Simply Glamorous Army Chic

Who ever thought army/camouflage leggings could be so chic?

I have always loved the army/camouflage clothing look or trends as long as they are not too masculine. I remember for several months I wanted a pair of army/camouflage leggings and I must say winter went by before I finally got them and I thought oh well I will never get to wear them. Well with the bleaky weather and rain we have been experiencing I was able to wear them out last night and so I got excited about them again.

These Army leggings made from cotton and elasthane features an elasticized waist band, detailed knee design with the fictitious look of knee pads and sculpted design with a zippered ankle for a tapered fit. So comfortable and soft these leggings were definitely worth the wait. To style my simply glamorous army chic leggings I opted for a sheer top half cotton body blouse paired with a leather sleeve blazer after all its raining out and it dresses up the look. I then accessorized with a large belt to add definition to the blouse while breaking up the monotony of the black on black with the pop of a large gold buckle. The Gold buckle and jewelry takes the outfit up a notch when going from one event to another. 12hour days are sometimes a hassle with feelings of exhaustion the next day but some are definitely worth the time so I was comfortably dressed for 12hours of fun.

Attention Thieves

Hey Loves….Do you ever get bombarded by attention thieves?

I do, I do, I do everyday…… Quite a bleakly day, the best day to work from home especially when I have loads to catch up on. Being an entrepreneur and an educator is often a task however being able to mutli-task is a gift in itself. I used to write a to do list everyday and it just seemed as if it made my OCD worse as i would panic when i didn’t accomplish a target on the list, so I started rebelling and staying away from the list but now it seems as if its a crutch that I’m in need of to stay focused and away from the attention thieves.. As each day I set out to have fulfilling, rewarding days and do my utmost to accomplish all my tasks and events yet I find myself working until 5am most days which is almost the start of another day. I replay my days and I realize the attention thieves are starting to take over…..the phone apps are always going off, the emails to be read and answered, writers block requiring an occasional game of Ruzzle to clear my head of research materials, peeping in on Instagram to see the world at my fingertips, keeping up with my family life and of course maintaining a social life when there is really no time for one. Of course these attention thieves get me all the time. I often feel like a fish out of water without my iPhone…….I pray for the day when I will go back to working in my away from home office full time and when I can leave the cell phone in the car therefore giving myself a true social life and quality family time. Get real who am I kidding when I go back to that stage of my dreams, then my clients might need support so that’s a dream….maybe I will have a phone that only receives calls or texts……..yeah that’s the vision away from the attention thieves. Until then I’m surviving on about 20hours of sleep….. Es lo que es, mi vida loca, es no bueno pero mi vida!!

The Lady in the tuxedo pants

Hey Loves! It has been longer than I usually take to make a post, and I feel so out of sorts not being able to write my post as often as I would. I have come to terms with my situation in knowing that my life won’t be the same for the next few years. I have changed up everything in my life, things are bittersweet, I experience varying emotions, however I know after this things will get better for me as I have discovered an unknown strength that will help me on my journey. Tears flow unwillingly, I read without comprehension, writers block seem most common and then reality hits me I must pick up the pieces all by myself as no one is reliable and I have to fulfill my dreams. People are so unpredictable and only appreciative when you can do for them so on that note I have narrowed my friends list to one so little I wonder am I even my own friend? So on Friday night, when my girlfriend said lets go for cocktails I figure I’d change up my style a bit to the Lady in the Tuxedo Pants. I stopped in my auntie’s garden to show my appreciation of her lovely flower garden…. In my purple tuxedo pants, I am off for laughs and cocktails a distraction from my reality, saying I will be back soon to no one in particular.

The Ship Clutch by Kate Spade

Hey Loves, All aboard with this lovely clutch by Kate Spade with its beautiful blue patent leather, red clasps for steamer closure and nautical interior colors with a single zipper pocket. I don’t know about you all however I just can’t get enough of Kate Spade; from polka dots, stripes, paisleys, checkered, bird prints, bright hues… I just love Kate Spade designs . Nautical themes are always an inspiration for me as navy is one of my favorite colors (almost black) it is very neutral and red happens to make everything pop. When I saw the All aboard clutch in NY last Spring I just couldn’t return home without it and it has traveled with me since its purchase. This Sunday I took a break from reading to visit my Gran’ma and I just had to accessorize with my All Aboard Clutch.

Work Mode 13…..the perfect grey blazer

Hey Lovelies, Happy Tuesday, today I’m taking a break from reading, it seems as if my eyes are weary so after work I’m taking a bit of a break. Well for starters the sun came out after work for these pics however the weather is still frigid. Truly horrible for my Spring 2013 expectations yet good as I have discovered my new favorite blazer……The Grey fitted blazer from Banana Republic!. It was 2months ago, my friend was visiting from London, I drove her to The Tanger Outlet Center and of course I fell in love with this blazer as it was discounted to almost being free savings of about $150. I attempted to pass it off on my friend but she was challenged as the sleeves were much too long for her arms. Mystified yet, I tried on and purchased the almost free blazer for about 20% of its original cost. The sexy perfect grey blazer is made of wool and polyester of a medium herring grain design with three buttons for closure. It’s detailed and fitted to the body as if it was tailored just for me. Two button less front pockets with flaps, that can be tucked in or worn out. This grey blazer has become my favorite blazer during the Spring of layers.. So on a spring day when it’s freezing out and I don’t want to appear too winter-like I opt for layering my grey blazer with a vest and a striped career shirt complimented by my wool pencil skirt and rubber soled boots.

I justified my purchase that day by saying its almost free plus my other grey blazers are different:- 1) has blue piping and cant be worn with everything 2) the other has a single button and its too dark of a grey and that’s just how the perfect grey fitted blazer moved into my closet as an integral apparel. Outdone by Prada

Hey Lovelies, This week got off to a great start, I have been floral and flirty, green and colorful…..so it has been fun despite not making it to any of the fashion shows I wanted to attend this past weekend. Unfortunately, the fashion show we chose to attend was cancelled due to poor planning…..yikes!!!! Ooh well, we made the best of the night we went to hang out at Frank Ski’s Restaurant & Lounge….good service, good music, laughter, a bottle of wine, tasty appetizers and dancing made our night quite special.

Green happens to be my runner up favorite color and unknowingly its a stable in my wardrobe its often so calm, soothing and almost one with nature feeling. It is said that wearing green is inspiring and significant of growth, so I guess I’m often feeling inspired. About 5years ago I went on a shopping trip with my shopping buddies and I just had to have this lovely ostrich snap close double pouch on a rail evening Prada bag . It was so beautiful and unique I couldn’t see my existence without this purse. So I brought it home and it sat in its duster bag in the back of the closet, surviving 3moves in the 5years ….ooh la la it has finally made it way outside. For the life of me I can’t understand why I hoarded the bag for such a long time. It’s absolutely gorgeous, its green, its unique, it sits comfortably on my shoulder and carries easily on my arms. I guess I was too busy playing with my other bags or better yet graduate school consumed me so I didn’t give my beautiful green Prada evening bag the attention it deserved. So in keeping with not shopping unless necessary my fabulous Prada has won the right to live outside the closet this season. All my evening bags have been outdone by Prada!!

Da Iconic bag

Hey Lovelies, Do you have a favorite bag? What makes it your favorite bag?
Well as for me it was a bit hard to decide as i use to collect designer bags, spending at least one paycheck each month on a purse or a few purses….whatever tickled my fancy. It was an era wherein i wore designer jeans daily with matching designer belts, shoes and purses. Now I dress freely only matching my mood in whatever I feel like putting on, knowing that my style is all my own and I don’t have to impress anyone. Today i’m in the mood to walk in the woods after a long morning at the Red Cross…I’m wearing one of my favorite bags the Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy Bag 30cm . This bag is an integral part of my wardrobe it is da iconic bag in my life. 15years ago My speedy bag was the perfect bag in the stroller basket, it was the party bag, it was the work bag, it was the shopping bag, the overnight bag (easily fits a change of clothing) and to top it off the older it gets the more I appreciate this iconic bag. I often think of replacing it however, I’m going to hang on to it a bit longer, I love the distressed and worn look on the handles. Flirty Floral

Hey Lovelies,

It was a short work week for which I’m super grateful, as I’m still exhausted from my weekend in NYC. Anyway its Friday again so I’m singing TGIF all day. Fashion week is up on us in ATL so this weekend is jam packed with fun stuff and events. I’m going to meet up with my friend for cocktails wearing this cutesy floral Ted Baker tunic dress which I bought in December for my birthday however, my birthday and the holidays went so fast that I never got a chance to wear it. I’m feeling drained so the floral ambiance should be able to lift my moods. I don’t know about you, but as for me no matter how drained I sometimes feel I’m revived once I’m dolled up. The fabulous floral Ted Baker tunic dress (which I did not try on when I purchased it bad habit that I’m working on) features a bright beautiful garden scenery of cheery bright flowers and the ever beautiful freedom spirited butterflies. I was particularly drawn to this flirty floral print tunic because of its lively scenery and the beautiful butterflies. The appearance is that of an overlay of a boxy tunic, however once it encounters your body the boxy look disappears while it hugs the contours of your body. The rounded collar and elbow length sleeves adds appeal to the tunic therefore making it innocent yet sexy enough for a night out on the town. With such a busy, cheery garden scenery I paired the flirty floral tunic dress with nude hidden platform heels and a green evening bag. To top it off my favorite earring and bracelet set provides great color contrast while minimizing the accessories yet appearing So fab…..I Love the look of this outfit created in a matter of minutes as my style is my life, loving the flirty floral.

The Right Shoes…..

Hey Lovelies, Last night was a really horrible night, I barely got any sleep due to the heavy winds and rain throughout the tornado watch in my area. Before going to bed I contemplated sleeping in the basement bedrooms or safety reasons; however being the procrastinator that I am: I laid upstairs in bed until I fell asleep. Of course only to be awakened a few times by the howls and whistles of the winds, sounding as if they would enter the house at any given moment. At 6am the phone was ringing to assure me that the tornado watch was over and I was due at work…..bomber!!! All I could think of was I hardly got any sleep, I’m exhausted from being up all times of the night. So on that note I just want to share my favorite shoes, the right shoes.

Upon returning to the US in Fall of 2011 I first saw the Fendi Décolleté pumps in a zucca print and of course being a fashionista I wanted them. I somehow convinced myself that they would be a birthday gift to myself 2months later, which of course didn’t happen as I chose a month long trip to Jamaica instead. Life went on without the to-die for pumps, until of course a shopping trip to NYC and voila my shoe surfaces in Nero….OMG!! It’s 2012 I must have them for my birthday as I’m not shopping major (yeah right). Goodness my birthday is not for another 7months, how do I justify this they don’t have my size in the store, ” nooooo!” but they can be ordered. Well, I’m patient so of course they are shipped to my home where they wait patiently(7months) on a shelf…who does that?

On my birthday I enthusiastically got dressed in my Fendi Décolleté pumps feeling like the prettiest and sexiest woman alive.

After wearing them I was ecstatic as my money was well spent; they were so comfortable I wore them all day

I’m feeling as if I can conquer the world in the right shoes. I know all the other shoes in my closet must be whispering when I look in for a pair of shoes or talk boldly amongst themselves about their neglect or their duration on the shelf when the right shoe in a weird yellow box bounces in and out every week since it made its debut, while others have never left the closet since being neatly placed in clear plastic shoe containers. After all, it’s not everyday that a true fashionista, lover of everything fashionable and a hoarder of shoes is able to chose one shoe as the right shoes. Hence the reason I would have to grab them in case of a fire!!!!!

Pink Friday

Hey Peeps,
A Lovely Pink Friday it is indeed, I’m prepared for the freezing temperatures dressed in a beige cuffed, pink and blue striped cowl neck sweater with a snug fit to ensure warmth, pink wool slacks complimented with pink and brown lace up shoes. Pink Friday work mode fashion sense the perfect start to a great weekend. I’m excited about this weekend, fashion shows in Atlanta; Four la Pop up shop @ the W Hotel and Designers display & Style fashion show @ Studio Flexx. There are loads of sales at the mall this weekend to name a few stores: Bebe, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Loft, Limited and so many others. With so many ongoing sales its quite the opportune time for all fashionistas to get holiday bargains on the must haves, leather, faux leather, brocade, animal print, oxblood, denim, wedged heels, kitten heels, bold patterns, studs, blazers, coats for the season and some classic pieces.
