The virtue of Patience….blessed is she

Hey Loves,

“And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45

As I sat in devotion this morning I chose to focus on this particular scripture that I had received from a friend. I found it fitting as everyone seems to be living rather spontaneously. We live in a society which makes everything available at our fingertips so we have lost the virtue of patience. The few of us whom still enjoy shopping away from our computers, When we walk into a store we don’t expect to encounter a line or have someone wait on us. We are microwaving most of our experiences and as a result the relationships we form are in quantity however not of high quality.

We often need to stop and think do we need 5000 friends on social media or do we need friends whom we actually know and can relate to? Friends whom are supportive of us should be the only ones we need in our circles. It is good to have a global connection and relationships with others but it’s even greater when we have a personal relationship with God. The word of God promises to bless us and pour into us, God gave his only begotten son for us. Yet we often wonder why we experience the struggles that we do and think all is against us. As believers we ought to encourage and nourish our faith so that we can hear the voice of God. Know that while we are being impatient God is working diligently for us, it may not be when we expect things to happen for us but in the time that God deems it right for us. Think about it without a test we would have no testimony and without being a victim we would not be a victor. God loves victories and that’s why we encounter struggles so that by overcoming them we are able to share our victories and make a believer of the non-believer.

DIY: Edgy chic, blue denim

Hey Loves,
It has been raining all week on and off and I must say I’m loving the weather. I don’t enjoy hot weather as air conditioning is not an ally of mine. So the weather has been pretty cool and my flowers are enjoying pure rain water…..heavenly I guess, as they seem brighter and the grass lushed.

20130620-075658.jpg I have been asked countless times to blog about denim however, it seems such a task, yet I’m going to give it a shot after all I do wear denim sometimes. I am not an uber fancy chic lady or so but with a change in personal climate then gone are my designer denim days when it was okay to buy denim every week. Being the skirtinista that I am I can be edgy chic in a blue denim skirt and yes you can DIY

I know its almost summer, despite the recent showers we have been blessed with extremely warm temperatures. I know for some people denim is an integral staple in their wardrobe, some wear denim all year, some must wear denim to work or better yet some fashionably loves denim. Well we can all learn to love denim if and when we wear them well. To style a simple denim skirt as the one lined out to dry just pair it with a regular career button down blouse, fold back the sleeves to elbow length and accessorize with a belt and fashionable jewelry. This jazzes up the denim skirt look becoming edgy, chic and preppy in denim. Yes the denim skirt, gets transformed

20130620-082527.jpg to complete the look, add a pair of loafers or comfy summer sandals. Voila DIY: edgy chic, fashionable blue denim.

Standing outside in the drizzle of the rain is so romantic, especially when there is someone to share the moment with, just look around and everything just looks bright and shiny bellowing words of thank you from the earth/soil for quenching its thirst.

DIY be creative with pairing your denim pieces fashionably, I will try my best to post more about denim as a fashionable staple in the future.

A Passion for Fashion

Hey Peeps,
Have you ever wondered what is your passion? Surely we all have something that we are passionate about, a largely overlooked opportunity because we just consider it a passion and therefore leave our passion in the middle of nowhere. My enduring passion is Fashion, Working with Children and Writing, yes I have been fascinated with magazines, newspapers and books from an early age. A clip of a few old magazines…, can you see the difference in fashion?

As you can see times have clearly changed and so has our styles in the fashion world, however once you have a passion for Fashion it’s just your passion. I chose not to work in the fashion world however it shows daily in my sense of fashion, clearly no denying my passion. We all live in the same world yet we are on different horizons when it comes to fashion. On that note today was hump day, I try to break up the monotony of all that I do so on Wednesdays I follow my passion and work with children in the school library/media center. Working with children means comfort, poise, balance in everything so simply a relaxed fit Citizens of Humanity jeans, a Banana Republic cap sleeve sweater and a vintage brown blazer with my brown loafers.

This simple sense of passion based on my passion for fashion is very relaxed and versatile as it easily transforms into a different environment. To do so I would switch from loafers to feminine pumps and voila the outfit gets transformed. However, in the setting at the library/media center I am comfortably dressed and I can wear many hats: shelf books, help students, circulation, and address any concerns. Therefore no matter the occasion my passion for fashion shines through because clothes, accessories, shoes and all that you do should be fun. Seek out your passion and make it a ritual.

As always hope you enjoy my blog, seek out your passion as you might be amazed at your energy!

Quick & Easy Fall Fashion

Fall 2012 is pretty trendy with loads of trends to suit almost everyone. You can choose to be trendy, vintage, classy, sexy and you will still be dubbed a hot tamale or fashionista. Which gives you time to wear what’s already in your closet mixed with new pieces and a chance to layer creatively. Today, I have a meeting however it’s informal so I choose to wear a wool cropped sleeve loose fitting sweater with a cotton cropped sleeve white collarless blouse by French Connection and a simple skinny jeans from Hollister. To complete the look a brown suede multi-color leather trim semi platform, multicolor brown jewelry from Moe Lee Fashion Accessories and of course my forever shades by Tom Ford.

The shoes I wore with this outfit is a Miss Sixty, it was chosen because of its comfort and its color hues. It’s very rare that you will find brown shoes with grey and blue hues that blend well together. It’s 4inch heels balances comfortably with a 1/2 inch platform making it very easy and comfortable to walk around in with out placing stress on your body.

My jewelry is an all time favorite I picked up in NY from Moe Lee Fashion Accessories…I love these accessories because of its variation in beads and its earthly tones. This is what I consider my safe jewelry as it blends in well with every outfit.

So I was dressed comfortably and fashionably….my meeting went well, actually better than expected. Hope you enjoyed my blog, have a great night!!!!
